Jacob Anthony deGrom, nicknamed "the deGrominator", is an American professional baseball pitcher 

He currently plays for the New York Mets of Major League Baseball

Prior to playing professionally, deGrom attended Stetson University

He also played college baseball for the Stetson Hatters

DeGrom began playing baseball as a shortstop and was converted into a pitcher during his junior year at Stetson 

he Mets selected him in the ninth round of the 2010 MLB draft 

Originally born on  June 19,1998 in  Florida, United States

He made his MLB debut with the Mets on May 15, 2014

hat year, deGrom was named the National League's (NL) Rookie of the Month twice, and the NL Rookie of the Year

Before the 2019 season, the Mets signed the ace pitcher Jacob deGrom to a five-year, $137.5 million contract extension that allowed him to opt out after the 2022 season
