New Ozone hole found is 7 times bigger than the Antarctic hole.

A new ozone hole is found in the tropic region.

This ozone hole is 7 times bigger than the Antarctic hole.

Approx.1/2 of the world population could face increased ultraviolet radiation as a result of this hole.

The tropical ozone hole has a comparable depth to the springtime Antarctic hole.

There is a lower amount of ozone that is spread throughout the tropical lower stratosphere.

This is why the declining ozone levels went undetected over the years.

The tropical ozone layer is in a different region of the stratosphere than the polar holes.

High levels of UV rays travel through thin regions of the ozone layer.
