Millville's Buddy Kennedy singles in MLB debut with Arizona
During the Arizona Diamondbacks' 7-2 victory against the Minnesota Twins on Friday,
The Millville native got his first MLB hit with a fifth-inning single off Devin Smeltzer.
In his debut, Kennedy, who wore No. 45, went 1-for-3 with a run scored.
As the team's designated hitter, he batted sixth.
Earlier in the day, the organisation picked his contract from Triple-A Reno.
So I got through it, got out, and as soon as I sat back down on the bench, I said to myself, 'This is baseball.'
In his rookie season with the Reno Aces, Kennedy, 23,
was burning up the Triple-A Pacific Coast League, batting.
296 with four home runs, 24 RBIs, and eight stolen bases in 54 games.
After hitting.321 in May, the third baseman batted.304 in June, appearing in 12 games.
