Former WWE referee Dave Hebner, who was at the centre of one of the sport's most legendary feuds, died on Friday. He was 73.
"Hebner found himself in the Centre of some of WWE's most famous moments throughout a remarkable career,
"Hebner officiated the iconic WrestleMania III match between Randy Savage and Ricky Steamboat,
as well as the WrestleMania V match between Savage and Hulk Hogan."
According to Bleacher Report, Hebner and his twin brother,
Earl, were involved in a contentious battle between Andre the Giant and Hulk
Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis on Feb. 5, 1988.
On "The Main Event," Hogan, who was defending his WWF
Heavyweight Title, was defeated by Andre when the referee counted to three, despite the fact that Hogan's shoulders were off the mat.
